One of the things I love is finding orphaned signs - signs for businesses that are long gone, but of which a small vestige remains. This beer-swilling little fellow has the feel of an orphaned sign, but I don't remember him above the previous restaurant (he's above the Belcourt now, which was the Frutti di Mare before that). Anyone know if he came with the Belcourt or if he's been there longer?
I think you've mentioned this--orphaned signs--in the past. It is an interesting phenomenon. I'm a history buff, and I suppose this fits as a piece of local history. I should pay more attention to these things! I probably won't, but I should! ;)
